Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• At least one term or one semester of previous Japanese language study (must know hiragana and katakana )
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• · Be a full-time enrolled or a matriculated student from a four-year college or university (Community College applicants are considered on a case-by-case basis)
• · Have completed at least 2 quarters or 1 semester of full-time study at a four-year college or university (Community College applicants are considered on a case-by-case basis)
• Students from any academic major may apply; international applicants are welcome!

Enrollment

Portland State University in Portland, Oregon, issues academic credit for the Waseda Oregon Summer Japanese Program. The Waseda Oregon Office provides one official transcript to program participants who submit a transcript request form with their pre-orientation documents. Students are responsible for additional transcript requests and fees as well as making arrangements for the transfer of credit to their home institution.
