July 12 - August 25, 2008

Accommodation and Meals

Kamogawa Seminar House

The Kamogawa Seminar House is one of several properties owned by Waseda University outside of Tokyo. Seminar houses are used year-round for class retreats, special courses and other university-sponsored events. Summer Program participants will have the Kamogawa Seminar House to themselves along with their Japanese language teachers and program staff. It will be a great opportunity to jump into Japanese language learning and start to make the cultural transition to Japan.

Program participants will share same-sex rooms with other Summer Program participants. Each room sleeps four and has an attached bathroom with toilet and sink. There are communal showers and huge Japanese baths (one for women and one for men). Meals will be prepared by the in-house chef and are served in the dining room during set hours. In addition there is a deck with barbeque for students' use as well as vending machines in the lobby.

International Student House, Nishi-waseda Campus

Program participants will get brand new dorm singles in the Waseda International Student House with other Summer Program participants. Each room sleeps one and has an attached toilet and sink; there are individual shower stalls on the main floor. The dormitory has a student lounge with a TV, kitchen and laundry facilities. Students must prepare their own meals in the communal kitchen or eat at one of the many inexpensive restaurants that cater to Waseda students. Program participants have access to Waseda's computer labs, library and recreational facilities.
