The
International College
In April
2004, a new undergraduate college will be established at Waseda
University called the International College. This new college will
offer a North American liberal-arts-style curriculum to a student
body made up of 2/3 Japanese students and 1/3 International
students. The four-year curriculum is divided into three stages
with the first emphasizing foreign language training - Japanese for
students from outside of Japan. In the second stage students have
the option to study abroad, beginning advanced studies at
universities around the world. In the final stage, students focus on
the discipline area of their choice, fully utilizing both English
and Japanese. The goal of the Waseda International College is to
educate future world leaders the "Waseda way."
In addition,
the International College will host all of the traditional study
abroad and exchange students who go to Waseda (those who used to
study at the International Division).
